Volunteer Position General Hours: 5-8 hours per week, some days more
Main Duties:
1. Keep up on paperwork
2. Make necessary phone calls
3. Plan baseball game schedule
4. Accounting / pay workers
5. Design program for Baseball Tournament
6. Set up schedules for meetings
7. Attend meetings within the college and with other agencies
Expectation:
I expect during this internship to get a first hand look at the behind the scenes of everything that goes into being an athletic director at the collegiate level. I hope that while I am here I get to experience many different types of scenarios, so I can see what process gets followed to best assess and combat that issue. I also hope to use my networking skills to try and build up my connections for future career moves that I am interested in making.
Goals:
1. Find out if this the correct career decision for me and my future
2. Learn the responsibilities of being an Athletic Director at the collegiate level
3. Network with leaders here as well as leaders in other colleges
4. Help the current Athletic Director by taking some of the smaller roles/tasks off his hands so he can focus more on the important ones
